After the velvet revolution taken place in Armenia in 2018, a businessman from Abovyan, the owner of “King de Luxe” company (was declared bankrupt and liquidated) Arthur Harutyunyan and his relatives were sure that they would return to Armenia from abroad and develop the economy of post-revolutionary Armenia.
We would like to remind you that during the time of former authorities of Armenia, Arthur Harutyunyan had problems with the Chairman of the “Prosperous Armenia” party, a large-scale businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.

In those years, Harutyunyan dared to establish a business without Tsarukyan’s ‘’approval’’ in order to improve the transport service of Abovyan, as well as other cities of Kotayk Marz. However, the events took a different turn: Arthur Harutyunyan’s business was deliberately bankrupted, fines and penalties were added to the interest rates of credit amounts in banks. Not only he, but also all his relatives were exposed to persecution. His nephew Gegham Harutyunyan, who was personally involved in the businessman’s affair, was specifically targeted. Due to discriminatory attitude and persecution, Gegham Harutyunyan had to emigrate to the USA in February, 2016.
During the power of Nikol Pashinyan, Arthur Harutyunyan is making attempts to invest in Armenia again. He purchases new Dutch-made buses of the ‘’VOL’’ brand for 650 thousand euros, tries to update the transport market of Abovyan, but again faces the same problems. Nowadays’ authorities seem to have adopted the tactics of the previous one, and after serious financial investments, this time again they do not allow the businessman Artհur Harutyunyan to work.
The persecutions against the businessman from Abovyan and his relatives continue until today. They are still living abroad. “I am ready to work in Armenia, contribute to the development of my country’s economy, but there is still a risk for me in Armenia. I continue to be targeted too, just like my uncle,” 30-year-old Gegham Harutyunyan, who lives in the USA, mentioned in an interview with marzer.am.
